Tax Preparer

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Tax Preparer to support our clients tax practice during peak filing periods and beyond. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, highly organized, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring tax returns and related documentation are processed accurately, securely, and efficiently.

salary: $25 - $28 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Process tax returns, including collecting and tracking e-filing authorizations
• Collate, assemble, and ship tax returns and extensions
• Electronically file federal and state returns and extensions through tax software and government portals
• Scan, save, and manage documents within the firm’s document management system
• Maintain and update the Client Portal as needed
• Draft, send (email/DocuSign), and file engagement letters
• Assist with tax compliance reporting
• Provide general administrative and office support as needed
• Support special projects that enhance efficiency, productivity, and workplace operations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Technologically proficient and comfortable learning new systems and tools
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint; Access a plus)
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and tact
• Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and accountability
• Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders and reprioritize as needed
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree (a plus)
• 1+ year of tax processing or tax administrative experience
• Familiarity with tax software such as CCH Axcess or GoSystem
• Experience with tax workflow tools (XCM preferred)
