Asset Management Associate

Job Summary
Join our fast-growing team to improve lives through real estate. The Asset Management Associate provides performance reporting and analysis across a regional portfolio of multi-family properties. They execute due diligence matters swiftly and accurately while developing and implementing business plans to advance the goal of $1B in Assets Under Management by 2030.

Core Responsibilities
- Maintain property performance dashboards
- Build new and expand existing complex cash flow and budget models
- Provide meaningful variance analysis and develop metrics that drive performance
- Develop, update, and reforecast annual budgets in collaboration with Property Management team
- Smoothly transition properties from Acquisitions to Property Management by creating an initial budget, setting clear financial goals, and outlining a well-structured business plan
- Work closely with Property Management team to understand property needs, teach financial concepts, and gain buy-in for initiatives
- Research market rents across the portfolio, analyze comparisons, identify areas of improvement, and optimize lease renewals
- Manage lender and insurance relationships for due diligence requests
- Engage with lenders to retrieve debt reserves and create a system for continuous escrow management
- Assist Investor Relations team with investor reporting
- Other duties as assigned to help Birgo improve lives through real estate

- Resolve all asset management inbox items quickly and accurately
- Update and maintain all financial reporting, analysis, and models
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development
Successful Candidate Profile
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of real estate, private equity, fund management, and asset management concepts and principles
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field
- Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MS)
- Consideration given to candidates with demonstrated coursework in real estate financial modeling, underwriting, or quantitative analysis
Experience:
- 3+ years of real estate asset/portfolio management experience ( multifamily preferred )
- 3+ years of building and maintaining advanced Excel financial models
Skills:
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Power user of Microsoft Excel (including ability to write macros and build visualization dashboards) and Google Workspace
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization, planning, and execution skills
- AppFolio and Argus experience ( preferred )

Other Requirements:
- Able to use a computer for a full workday
- Able to commute to the office in Pittsburgh, PA ~3 days/week (Cincinnati, OH and Buffalo, NY also considered)
- Occasional travel to markets as needed
