Responsibilities
- Diagnose and Troubleshoot: Identify issues with small engines, including lawnmowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, and other equipment. Ability to diagnose and repair electronic fuel injection and hydraulic systems.
- Repair and Maintain Commercial Lawn Equipment: Perform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance on small engines to ensure optimal performance. Types of equipment includes wheel loaders, skid loaders, compact and utility tractors, and walk behind mowers.
- Conduct Inspections: Inspect equipment to determine mechanical problems and perform tests to ensure engines are functioning correctly.
- Customer Service: Communicate with shop manager about the status of repairs, service recommendations, and provide clear estimates for labor and parts.
- Clean and Maintain Equipment: Clean and store tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure longevity and safe operation.
- Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service records, including parts used, labor hours, and work completed.
- Perform Seasonal Maintenance: Provide specialized services for seasonal maintenance, such as winterization of engines or spring startup checks.
- Assist with Training: Support new employees or trainees in learning proper techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform tasks like bending, climbing, squatting, and kneeling.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanical knowledge and a natural aptitude to learn more.
- Basic Mathematical Skills: Able to perform basic math calculations.
- Computer Skills: Skilled in using dealer management software.
- Attention to Detail: Documenting issues, verifying unit details, and following processes consistently.
- Time Management and Efficiency: Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing based on urgency, and ensuring timely completion.
- Dependability and Accountability: Takes ownership of tasks, follows through on commitments, and ensures deadlines and customer satisfaction are met.
- Customer Service Orientation: Provides friendly, professional customer service, actively listening to and addressing concerns while following proper communication protocols.
