Line Cook
We are seeking collaborative and enthusiastic Line Cooks to join our kitchen. ***Please note, this job is located at our new taproom location in Maple Glen, PA (zip code 19002)!***
Thank you for your interest in working at Wissahickon Brewing Company! Our new taproom currently operates five days a week, combining classic American pub fare for dinner with wood-fired pizzas. LINE COOK JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Line Cook at Wissahickon Brewing Company, you will report directly to the Executive Chef. You will be responsible for the proper execution of recipes, preparation of food, stocking and working stations, and cooking of food on the line. You will be responsible for a proper set up and/or breakdown of your station. All team members are responsible for contributing to and upholding a workplace that is welcoming, inclusive, and equitable for all, and expected to actively participate in preserving that environment.
Compensation:
Up to 40 hours per week. Schedule will vary. $18-21 per hour based on experience.
Essential Duties:
As a Line Cook at Wissahickon Brewing Company, you will be responsible for:
- Actively participating in, and being accountable for maintaining an equitable, welcoming and safe work environment.
- Working with the Chef Team to develop recipes.
- Ensuring the highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparations and food handling.
- Keeping up to date with all new recipes and preparation techniques.
- Ensuring freshness of food ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- Responsible for the end of night prep list and overall cleanliness of the station.
- Ensuring safe operation, proper care, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
- Maintenance and cleaning of dishes during shift.
- Maintaining an open line of communication with the entire management team to address any issues/concerns as they arise.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED a plus
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced kitchen
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment.
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces.
- Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments with moderate to high noise level.
