WTSS Contractor Opportunity supporting Westinghouse teams in Warrendale and Cranberry Township, PA. Work flexibly with periodic on-site collaboration while partnering with expert engineers across nuclear subsystems.

Impact You’ll Make

• Define and maintain the functional design for AP1000 digital control systems and legacy analog control/protection systems, including setpoint development and documentation (Functional Requirements and Functional Diagrams).
• Execute operational transient analyses to validate I&C logic/settings and overall plant response; identify and propose plant improvements.
• Lead Low-Temperature Overpressure Protection System (LTOPS) evaluations to ensure mitigation of overpressure scenarios and recommend configuration changes.
• Own NSSS Design Transients creation, maintenance, and updates for NSSS component qualification and modification impacts.
• Perform RTS and ESFAS setpoint uncertainty analyses using the NRC-approved Westinghouse Setpoint Methodology (WSM) for AP1000 and other U.S. plants, covering process/instrumentation uncertainties (transmitters, RTDs, process racks, indicators).
• Conduct statistical/data analysis of instrument drift to evaluate surveillance interval extensions and incorporate results into uncertainty analyses.
• Support delivery excellence: meet with SCS mentor/supervisor, scope and cost-estimate design changes, build project schedules, and produce clear client-ready reports; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering (MS preferred).
• 10+ years’ similar experience preferred.
• Solid engineering fundamentals; growth mindset.
• PWR design/operations knowledge highly preferred.
• Hands-on familiarity with pressure, temperature, level, flow, and power instrumentation.
• Preferred: modeling of PWR transients; basic statistics and data analysis.
• Team-oriented with the ability to tackle tasks independently; strong written/verbal communication; customer relationship skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Where You’ll Work

• Flexible schedule with some on-site time in Westinghouse Warrendale, PA and Cranberry Twp. Headquarters, as needed.

Compensation

• $50.00–$60.00 per hour.
