This position gives you the opportunity to perform a variety of complex secretarial and clerical duties within our Office of Administrative Law Judge. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Legal Assistant 1 you will provide clerical support to judges and other legal assistants. Work includes preparing documents, proofreading materials for accuracy, filing decisions, and tracking progress of cases. You will also coordinate travel accommodations, correspond with scheduling staff, and distribute information to appropriate staff. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Managing office filing system Routing mail and telephone calls to appropriate personnel Maintaining master calendar of all OALJ hearings Retrieving pertinent case information from InfoMAP case management system Maintaining office inventory Managing legal resources and reference materialsThe Office of Administrative Law Judge is a rewarding place to work because of the dynamic interaction between judges, attorneys, support staff, other bureaus, and the public!
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. Additional details may be provided during the interview. To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements: Within a reasonable travel distance of headquarters; and Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
