Job Summary:
The Wayfinders Family Success Coordinator is integral to the administration of the housing element of our program. This role involves managing the housing waitlist, providing detailed case management, and ensuring adherence to a housing-first, strength-based, and trauma- informed approach. The ideal candidate will develop strong community ties to enhance supportive services, and ensure a vibrant, supportive residential environment for all participants. The role will support residential and non- residential participants including, student support, and resource navigation, coordination of activities intended to foster participant engagement, degree program completion and post-graduation success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required; Master's degree preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 5years' experience in a related or transferable role
- Experience in housing management, supportive services, and trauma-informed care is preferred
- Act 33/34 Clearances
- Experience in administrative roles or student services within an educational setting
- Proven ability to effectively engage and build relationships with families and communities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cross-collaboratively
- Familiarity with socially supportive resources and organizations who work with economically striving populations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of initiative-taking and personal accountability for quality work output
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Must have a current driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of the Self-sufficiency Matrix and other screenings and assessments for setting and evaluating participant goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Residential Management & Scholar Success
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence at the residential facility several days per week (at least 3 days per week) to provide accessible support, build relationships with residents, and ensure alignment with day-to-day operations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of two -generational programming to foster a vibrant and supportive residential community.
- Manage the housing component of the Wayfinders Program housing and guide applicants through the waitlist to occupancy process.
- Utilize a progressive engagement model in case management to hold participants accountable to program guidelines and personal goal plans.
- Develop, monitor, and update comprehensive housing goal plans in alignment with the domains of the Self-sufficiency Matrix in collaboration with participants.
- Provide ongoing case management support, ensuring that all documentation, including progress notes and data entries for intakes and exits, is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Conduct property inspections in conjunction with the landlord to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with landlords, property managers, vendors, and service providers.
- Facilitate referrals to external agencies and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of community resources for parenting students enrolled in college.
- Ensure program compliance with all relevant regulations and standards and attend training and educational programs to enhance professional knowledge.
- Work collaboratively with team members to address issues that may impede a resident's graduation.
Program Support:
- Support both residential and pre-residential components of the Wayfinders Program.
- Engage in cross-collaborative duties across communications, outreach, case management, and support coordination.
- Actively support both the residential and pre-residential components of the Wayfinders Program, ensuring a seamless transition for students between different phases of the program.
- Coordinate with residential partners and educational partners to align support services with individual student needs and program milestones.
Cross-Collaborative Responsibilities:
- Engage in cross-collaborative duties across communications, outreach, case management, and support coordination to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Participate in team meetings and workgroups to help integrate program efforts across different departments, enhancing the effectiveness and reach of the Wayfinders Program.
Community and Partner Engagement:
- Foster relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and educational institutions to enhance program offerings and expand opportunities for students.
- Coordinate events and activities that promote community engagement and support the program's objectives, such as workshops, seminars, and community service projects.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Assist in the collection and analysis of program data to monitor progress and outcomes, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and organizational goals.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate program impact.
Student Support and Coaching:
- Work closely with higher education partners to provide support and guidance to parenting students throughout their educational journey.
- Help facilitate access to resources and services that support academic success and personal development.
- Act as a mentor and coach, offering personalized support tailored to individual student needs.
Administration Duties:
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, student intakes, and other related appointments.
- Maintain and update student records and databases with high accuracy.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating student engagement activities and educational workshops.
Special Projects:
- Serve as the main point of contact for special projects, particularly those involving targeted place-based engagements in specific neighborhoods.
- Coordinate with team members and external partners to ensure project goals are met and aligned with the overall mission of the Pittsburgh Scholar House.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks assigned to support the broader goals of the team as assigned by your supervisor.
