Senior Accountant - Philadelphia, PA
Position Description:
The Senior Accountant is a member of the corporate accounting and finance team and will be primarily responsible for accounting and reporting for assigned business entity, including maintaining reports for sales, expenses, inventory, pricing, profitability and other financial measurements. Responsibilities will also include revenue/expense analyses and reporting, reconciliation and other accounting activities, support for the monthly accounting close, and assistance with financial reporting. The position will be located in the corporate headquarters office in Northeast Philadelphia.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prepare reports and analyses as required in support of the monthly and annual financial closing processes and on-going financial activities, for assigned business entity.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly General Ledger account analysis and monthly reports.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and reporting for specific business units.
- Create financial models and perform analysis for business leaders\finance management.
- Support in the development of cost benefit analyses.
- Assist with the budgeting, forecasting and analysis process.
- Assist with vehicle tracking, analysis and reporting, and monitoring of fuel card program.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Assist management with technology initiatives and projects.
- Perform other related accounting duties and ad-hoc reporting, as assigned.
MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA in accounting, finance or equivalent field is preferred.
- 3+ years progressive work experience in finance/accounting is required, preferably within a large multi-location organization.
- Solid understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles and financial statements.
- Working knowledge of Accounts Receivable/Payable/Inventory process flows.
- Accounting/Finance experience in a distribution or manufacturing industry also a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong computer skills including experience with relational databases and reporting systems highly desired
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office and solid experience with Excel required.
- Strong work ethic with hands-on style, results oriented, accountable and focused.
- Ability to handle and manage sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and tasks.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, high-volume environment, while adhering to deadlines.
- Good organization and communication skills, both written and oral.
- General technology background and some experience with the following would be a plus:
- Sage Fixed Asset Software (FAS),
- Oracle / Hyperion, Microsoft Power BI, or related SQL based software,
- Infor or related web-based accounting systems,
- Performance management software
