Program: Northampton Township Preschool Potpourri
Start: September 2025
Schedule: 15 hours/week — Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9:00 AM–1:45 PM (September–June)

Northampton Township Preschool Potpourri is seeking a caring, reliable Preschool Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teachers and help young children (ages 3–5) explore, discover, and thrive in a warm, play-based learning environment.

What you’ll do (Assistant Teacher)

• Support the Lead Teacher with daily routines and classroom management.
• Ensure children are supervised and safe at all times ; help maintain a clean, organized classroom.
• Build children’s confidence through positive, developmentally appropriate interactions.
• Assist with setting up/leading activities (centers, art, songs, games, story time, outdoor play).
• Reinforce early learning in literacy, math, and social-emotional skills through play and small-group work.
• Help with arrival/dismissal, snack, restroom routines, and transitions.
• Observe children and share notes with the Lead Teacher; communicate kindly with families as directed.
• Follow all program policies and DHS licensing regulations .

What we’re looking for

• Experience: 2+ years working with young children (preschool, childcare, camp, babysitting, etc.).
• Education: CDA or Bachelor’s in Elementary or Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Able to work effectively with diverse children, staff, and families; professional, friendly communication.
• Problem-solving and teamwork skills; calm under pressure; reliable and organized.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs. and be active on your feet.
• Must complete required background checks and meet Department of Human Services requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with positive guidance, conflict resolution, and play-based curriculum.
• Action-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn alongside the Lead Teacher.
