Could you be the full-time onsite Project Quality Safety Manager in West Mifflin, PA, US (Pittsburgh area) we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your quality and safety management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.
You'll drive customer satisfaction by ensuring safety and quality assurance throughout the lifecycle of projects, from tender stage to contract closure. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Industrial, Supplier, Product Introduction Quality), guide project teams on quality contributions, and establish and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP), and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Serving as the Project Quality Safety Manager (single contributor) and lead quality aspects of assigned projects.
  • Coordinating and leading cross‑functional meetings with engineering, supplier quality, industrial quality, special processes, PME, and project management to define expectations and deliverables.
  • Tracking project schedules and milestones; gathering and validating data from stakeholders and assess their ability to meet deadlines.
  • Identifying risks/quality issues, driving problem‑solving using formal methodologies, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and product specifications to flag potential nonconformances and collaborating with engineering to resolve technical questions.
  • Overseeing quality-related processes, SOPs, and process implementation on the shop floor or project scope.
  • Managing financial aspects related to projects (budgets, cost impacts of delays/nonconformances).
  • Acting as the on‑site representative for quality—be present to manage dynamic, back‑to‑back projects and engage stakeholders in real time.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in engineering, preferably with a project management background ,
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing-related experience - hands-on experience with manufacturing operations, SOPs, process implementation, and production schedules,
  • Experience with Quality tools and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, QRQC, FMEA),
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI, ECM, or similar,
  • Comfortable managing/understanding budgets, cost impacts, and financial metrics related to manufacturing projects,
  • Familiarity with customer-focused processes and customer satisfaction strategies,
  • Qualification in Lean, Six Sigma, TQM/ASQ (desired),
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills,
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making,
  • Proven ability to manage and positively influence cross-functional and geographically distributed teams,
  • Experience in operational activities and documentation management,
  • Awareness of railway industry norms, certifications, and standards (desirable but not mandatory).

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Progress towards becoming a leader in quality and safety management, driving continuous improvement and innovation in the railway industry,
  • Work with diverse cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to ensure customer satisfaction and quality excellence,
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning,
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
