The A 3 - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Expert provides essential non-professional nursing care to patients and residents in long-term care settings. This role involves direct daily assistance with rehabilitation, maintenance, and personal care tasks while adhering to established guidelines and under the supervision of licensed professionals. The CNA at this expert level is capable of offering guidance, troubleshooting, and answering questions within their area of expertise to support quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, daily care to patients/residents, including rehabilitation and maintenance activities.
• Assist and encourage patients/residents in prescribed rehabilitative and recreational activities individually and in groups.
• Perform non-professional nursing duties following instructions from registered nurses and physicians.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in patients’ quarters.
• Participate in on-the-job, in-service, and formal training to maintain nursing care expertise.
• Work under close supervision with regular reviews through reports, inspections, and observations.
• Perform routine duties independently as experience increases.
• Adhere to policies, including a strict no-cell-phone policy and no request for time off during the first four weeks of orientation.

Required Qualifications

• Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee or one year of paid experience caring for geriatric or physically ill patients/residents.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Registration and certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as meeting competency requirements for nurse aide work in long-term care units.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Additional Information

• Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) with 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
• Work location: ODP - SOF - Selinsgrove State Center, 1000 Route 522, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• No request for time off (RTO) is allowed during the first 4 weeks of orientation.
• Strict no-cell-phone policy while on duty.
