Duties and responsibilities:
Utility Assistance Coordinators engage with individuals seeking assistance programs for low-income rate payers of utility companies.
- Engage individuals in a way that reduces barriers to their acceptance of services, including meeting them in the office, speaking with them over the phone, or corresponding through email.
- Using multiple electronic databases simultaneously, enter and process utility assistance applications in both the utility provider’s and Tri County Community Action’s databases in accordance to applicable standards and requirements.
- Refer individuals to other assistance programs that can provide supportive services which address Social Determinates of Health and other barriers to housing security.
- Network, participate, and attend related meetings within Tri County Community Action and with other relevant agencies.
- Assist with the planning, implementation, facilitation, and/or attendance of special events relating to programming and initiatives in the community.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree/General Educational Diploma (GED) with one year demonstrated related experience.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
- Ability to successfully pass Act 33/34 and FBI clearances
- Valid Driver’s License and car insurance with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
Salary:
This is a non-exempt position with a starting hourly rate of $15.68. This position is based on a 35 hour workweek.
