A Brief Overview The Crisis Call Center Clinician is responsible for providing emotional support to inbound callers (children, adolescents, or concerned loved ones) with behavioral and psychiatric conditions. This position will support a 24/7 crisis call line and crisis response center. The Crisis Call Center Clinician will deliver evidenced-based crisis interventions, suicide prevention, information, referral, and brief counseling to youth and/or support to loved ones of youth experiencing acute concerns related to self-harm, suicidal thoughts, harm to others, psychosis, and unsafe behaviors. What you will do
- Provide crisis intervention to individuals in emotional distress through the BHCC Crisis Call Line
- Complete an assessment of each crisis call to determine the appropriate means of intervention.
- Completes risk assessment, safety planning, and de-escalation.
- Intervenes with suicidal callers including making an assessment and taking appropriate action, and coordinating with mobile crisis, and emergency responders when active rescue is required.
- Is familiar with resources and provides information and referral to callers as appropriate.
- Thoroughly documents all crisis calls in live time
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Bachelor's Degree Social work, education, counseling or behavioral health related field of study. Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least one (1) year experience in behavioral health services, preferably in crisis response, and intervention services, suicide prevention, and crisis stabilization Required
Skills and Abilities
- Suicide Prevention, Brief Interventions, Intake Assessments, Crisis Services (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - - Preferred or
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - - Preferred or
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - - Preferred
