Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Lines Marketing Manager to join our client's growing team. This critical role serves as the primary liaison between our agency and insurance carriers, responsible for marketing complex commercial insurance accounts across diverse industry sectors. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of commercial lines products, carrier appetites, and market conditions, while demonstrating exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills.
This position requires a seasoned professional who can effectively manage accounts ranging from $25,000 to over $1,000,000 in premium, working with sophisticated clients across multiple industries including transportation, construction, hospitality, educational institutions, real estate, and more. The Commercial Lines Marketing Manager will be instrumental in securing competitive coverage options, negotiating favorable terms, and maintaining strong carrier relationships that benefit the clients and agency.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing & Carrier Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance carriers, maintaining and developing strategic relationships with underwriters, regional managers, and carrier representatives
- Market commercial lines accounts to appropriate carriers based on risk characteristics, coverage needs, and carrier appetite
- Obtain competitive quotes from multiple carriers, ensuring comprehensive coverage options for clients
- Lead carrier meetings and presentations, effectively communicating client needs and risk profiles
- Negotiate terms, conditions, premiums, and coverage enhancements with carriers to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
- Monitor and track all marketing activities, submissions, and carrier responses to ensure timely follow-up and placement
Account Management & Client Service
- Manage a diverse portfolio of commercial accounts across multiple industry sectors including transportation, construction, hospitality, educational institutions, real estate, habitational, contractors, lessors' risk, restaurants, mercantile, and professional services
- Handle Business Owners Policies (BOPs) and complex commercial package policies
- Work with accounts ranging from $25,000 to $1,000,000+ in annual premium
- Prepare comprehensive presentations and proposals for clients, clearly articulating coverage options, pricing differences, and recommendations
- Provide accurate, clear, and timely communication to both insurance carriers and internal team members regarding account status, coverage issues, and market conditions
- Collaborate with account executives and producers
