The Pharmacy Intern is accountable for pharmacy services, which require professional skill and training as assigned by the pharmacist. Perform specified distributive and clinical pharmacy activities and related services.
*This is a pool role*
Every other Sunday after training.
Essential Job Duties:
- Conducts initial and ongoing assessment of specific patient, drug and disease information to identify real and potential drug-related problems or needs. Completes patient compounding record, labels final product.
- Monitors the outcomes from drug therapy by collecting, evaluating and interpreting the results of laboratory data, clinical data other pertinent patient information.
- Maintains thorough documentation in the patient/client record with patients, physicians and other healthcare professionals. Clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy by attending in-services and presenting journal clubs to staff. Performs data entry to refill prescriptions by printing labels, compounding records, delivery tickets and related scheduling documentation.
- Communicates with other departments as required for notification of patient status changes. Documents communications and related changes as necessary in pharmacy computer system.
- Compounds sterile preparations in accordance with all USP 797 and Pentec Health policies and procedures.
- Work a minimum of every other Sunday for 8 hours throughout the entire year.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Current enrollment in accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing/handling multiple tasks concurrently, organizational and time-management skills.
- Dependable in attendance and job performance with strong attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel via car, train or plane, stand (up to 8 hours or more), sit, walk, see, hear; use hands and fingers regularly, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Salary Range: $20 an hour
Pentec Health offers a comprehensive compensation and full benefits package. Actual pay will be based on several factors such as qualifications and skills for the role plus geographic location.
