Data Center Technician I

Location: Fairless Hills, PA
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00/hour
Openings: 10

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated Data Center Technicians to support critical infrastructure operations within a large-scale hyperscale data center environment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in structured cabling, low-voltage installations, telecommunications, construction, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or logistics who are looking to grow their careers in the data center industry.

In this role, you will assist with the installation, organization, maintenance, and support of data center infrastructure while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. Successful candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and eager to learn.

This position offers the potential to convert to a full-time permanent employee based on performance and business needs.

Schedule

Current schedules include:

  • Sunday – Wednesday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday – Saturday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Schedules may change based on business needs and future operational requirements.

Overtime opportunities may be available as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily data center infrastructure operations and installation activities.
  • Install, route, organize, and maintain structured cabling (copper and fiber).
  • Assist with server rack installation, equipment movement, and hardware deployment.
  • Push, pull, and maneuver server racks, carts, and other equipment safely as part of a team.
  • Read and follow work instructions, diagrams, rack elevations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve routine technical issues following established procedures.
  • Document completed work using ticketing systems and internal documentation tools.
  • Monitor assigned tasks to ensure timely completion and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with material handling.
  • Follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operations teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Data Centers
    • Structured Cabling
    • Low-Voltage Installation
    • Telecommunications
    • Construction
    • Warehouse Operations
    • Manufacturing
    • Logistics
  • Experience working with laptops and basic computer applications.
  • Comfortable using documentation, ticketing, and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 35 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures while wearing required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hyperscale or enterprise data center experience.
  • Experience with structured cabling (fiber optic and copper).
  • Experience with rack-and-stack activities.
  • Hardware installation or deployment experience.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
