Digital Accessibility Specialist
Position Type: Hybrid
Hybrid Schedule: Onsite 1 to 2 days a week

The Digital Accessibility Specialist supports an enterprise-wide accessibility initiative by evaluating, testing, remediating, and creating digital content to ensure compliance with applicable accessibility regulations and standards. This role works hands-on with documents, tools, and assistive technologies to improve usability and accessibility for all users. Duties:
Evaluate and remediate digital documents, including forms, PDFs, and other file formats, to meet established accessibility guidelines and standards.
Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing to verify compliance.
Perform keyboard-only navigation testing, screen reader testing, and testing with other assistive technologies.
Utilize automated accessibility testing tools and manual testing methodologies to identify accessibility issues.
Test content using assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, magnification tools, and color contrast analyzers.
Apply current accessibility standards, including WCAG and Revised Section 508 requirements, during testing and remediation efforts.
Create, execute, and self-direct test plans documenting test strategies, test cases, results, and remediation recommendations.
Track, document, and report all testing activities, remediation actions, and outcomes in a clear and organized manner.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to communicate findings, recommendations, and accessibility best practices.
Perform related accessibility and digital content support work as required.
2+ years of hands-on experience in digital accessibility testing, remediation, and digital content creation.
Knowledge of digital accessibility principles and disability inclusion best practices.
Knowledge of usability principles and user-centered design concepts.
Understanding of the current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and the Revised Section 508 Standards.
Ability to test digital content using accessibility evaluation tools and frameworks for both mobile and non-mobile platforms.
Experience working with assistive technologies such as JAWS, VoiceOver, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText, and color contrast analyzers.
Experience using automated accessibility testing tools.
Ability to independently create and execute test plans, including documentation of test strategies, test cases, results, and remediation recommendations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification.
Accessible Technology Certified Professional (ATCP) certification.
Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
Web Accessibility Specialist certification with specialization in HTML, JavaScript, and WCAG.
Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA).
PDF Accessibility Essentials training (Adobe Experience League).
Certified Document Remediation Specialist (508 Institute).
Accessible Document Specialist certification.
Completion of a 2-year college degree or equivalent technical study.
