Job Description

Accountant responsibilities include reviewing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and managing the accounts payable and purchasing business functions of the corporation. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with accounting, sharp business acumen, and a flair for attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and purchasing accounting transactions
• Manage business correspondence and documentation
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Manage accounts payable, purchasing, and receivable activities
• Ensure timely bank and vendor payments
• Assist with the review of financial transactions and documents and insure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Coordinate and work with personnel of related party companies
• Comply with financial policies, procedures, and regulations
• Perform other work as directed by the President/CEO and the Senior Accountant for Nokomis, Inc

Requirements and skills

• Work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Federal Acquisition Regulations experience a plus.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software QuickBooks or similar software
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions including accounts payable and purchasing
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
