Production control specialist

Job Descriptions:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To effectively plan, monitor, and control manufactured and purchased parts required to meet the Master Production Schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Communicates departmental needs and shortages through all production flow paths in order to meet schedule.

• Interfaces with various support functions to prevent schedule misses.

• Provides feedback to the Production Control Analyst and Master Scheduler in order to prioritize and balance workloads.

• Provide assistance to the Production Control Analyst and departmental supervisors to ensure open issues are resolved in a timely manner.

• Tracks outsourced materials.

• Coordinates manufacturing of spare parts in order to maintain schedule requirements.

• Recommend continuous improvements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

• Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.

• Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.

• Ability to adhere to workplace rules.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 1 to 2 years production control experience.

• Proficient in use of MS Office Suite.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Office environment.

• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
