The Role
We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in land development design and permitting to join our growing engineering team. This position is ideal for someone with both technical expertise and the leadership skills to manage projects and staff while maintaining hands-on involvement in design.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage land development projects from design through permitting and approvals
- Oversee and mentor staff engineers, ensuring quality deliverables and on-time submissions
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
- Prepare and review design calculations, grading plans, stormwater management, and permitting documents (NPDES, grading permits, etc.)
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Account Managers to ensure client satisfaction
- Maintain involvement in design work while building management and client-facing skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania (required)
- 7-12 years of experience in civil/land development engineering
- Strong technical background in grading, stormwater, and permitting (NPDES, grading permits, etc.)
- Proven project management experience with the ability to lead a team and manage client relationships
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Compensation
- Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000+, commensurate with experience
- Clear growth path into Account Manager roles ($140,000 – $150,000 range)
