Position Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to join our auto body repair team. The Paint Prepper plays a vital role in ensuring vehicles are properly prepped and ready for high-quality paint application. You will work closely with body technicians and painters to deliver flawless results that exceed customer expectations.

What youll do:

• Wash, degrease, and mask vehicles and parts to prepare for painting.
• Sand, featheredge, and grind surfaces to remove old paint, rust, dents, and imperfections.
• Apply fill materials (putty, body filler) and sand as needed for smooth surfaces.
• Tape and mask areas not being painted, ensuring precise line edges and full protection.
• Clean and prepare panels and parts according to shop and manufacturer procedures.
• Inspect completed prep work to ensure a clean, dust-free surface and identify any issues before painting begins.
• Assist painters by moving vehicles, mixing materials, and cleaning spray booths or equipment as needed.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety and environmental protocols.
• Document work performed and report any issues to supervisors.

What youll bring:

• Previous experience in auto body prep or related work preferred (will train motivated candidates).
• Working knowledge of sanding, masking, and prepping techniques.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, repair orders, and safety protocols.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing top-quality work.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift parts or equipment throughout the shift.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
