Sign-on bonus: $2,000.00 with a one year commitment for eligible employees
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
- Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
- Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
- Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
- Medical Command eligible
- PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN
- Valid Driver's License
- EMSVO within 30 days of hire
- ACLS within 30 days of hire
- ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire
- PALS within 30 days of hire
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
- Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
- One year experience (AHN EMS)
