We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This contract position involves tasks essential to managing legal documents, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth operations within the office. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate law and civil litigation, as well as strong organizational skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
Responsibilities:• Manage the scheduling of client appointments and coordinate with notaries as needed.
• Prepare and organize client binders with essential legal documents.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution and responses.
• Maintain and update calendars for legal proceedings and internal schedules.
• Facilitate e-filing and court submissions for civil litigation and estate planning cases.
• Assist with the preparation of legal documents related to trust and estate matters.
• Oversee administrative tasks to ensure the office operates efficiently.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support ongoing legal projects.• Prior experience in estate law and civil litigation is required.
• Proficiency in e-filing and familiarity with court filing procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, including calendar management.
• Ability to handle mail distribution and document preparation efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills for scheduling and coordinating with clients and notaries.
• Attention to detail when preparing legal binders and handling sensitive information.
• Knowledge of estate planning processes is highly preferred.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
