HR Generalist

Our client, a manufacturing company, is seeking an HR Generalist for a contract engagement to support their York, Pennsylvania facility. This role covers day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance recordkeeping for a workforce of approximately 250 employees.

The position works closely with plant leadership and the corporate HR team to maintain consistent policy application across shifts. The contract is expected to run through the end of the year with potential for extension based on business needs.

This is an on-site role requiring daily presence at the manufacturing facility. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial environment and interfacing directly with production supervisors and hourly staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage new hire onboarding and orientation for hourly and salaried employees
• Administer benefits enrollment and respond to employee benefits questions
• Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS records
• Support employee relations issues and document investigations
• Coordinate with payroll to resolve timekeeping discrepancies
• Track compliance deadlines for FMLA, workers compensation, and leave requests
• Assist with recruitment coordination including scheduling interviews
• Prepare reports on turnover, headcount, and attendance metrics

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of HR generalist experience
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other employment regulations
• Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG, Workday, or ADP
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfortable working on-site in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
