Shop Welder/General Mechanic

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Repair or modify equipment as needed based on project requirements
- Measure, cut, and prepare metal pieces using hand tools, saws, and grinders
- Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) to join metal components
- Align and clamp parts using calipers, rulers, and fixtures to ensure proper fit
- Inspect and test welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company, government, and equipment related safety requirements
- Follow all shop safety procedures, including use of PPE and equipment maintenance
- Effectively communicate equipment issues with supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned by the manager
- Mandatory overtime (as needed)
- Proven experience as a welder in a shop or industrial setting
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification preferred
- MUST have own tools
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding techniques
- Familiarity with metal types and welding properties
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and welding codes (e.g., AWS)
- Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety and a high level of safety consciousness
- Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable diving record
- Indoor fabrication shop
- May involve lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods
- Exposure to loud machinery and welding fumes (PPE provided)
