Position Overview: The Equipment Delivery Driver and Mechanic is responsible for the safe transportation, delivery, and maintenance of various types of water treatment equipment equipment. Management can train the individual with industry specific requirements and practices. This dual-role position involves delivering equipment to designated locations, ensuring their proper functioning, and performing routine maintenance and repairs when needed. When not in the field the individual is expected to support operations and equipment assembly in the service and main shop. The individual will need a valid driver's license and mechanical expertise to effectively perform their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Operations:
- Safely operate and drive a delivery vehicle with lift gate to transport equipment to specified locations.
- Load, unload, and secure equipment onto the delivery vehicle ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, taking into consideration traffic and weather conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service during equipment drop-offs, addressing any queries or concerns and maintaining a professional demeanor.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Basic Inspection and diagnose equipment for issues, performing routine maintenance and necessary repairs to ensure proper functioning.
- Conduct basic checks and preventative maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs or coordinating with specialized technicians for complex problems.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs conducted, including parts used and services performed.
- When not at client facilities provide support for service preparation, shop support and equipment assembly.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of oneself, equipment, and others on the road.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that trucks, tools and equipment are properly stored and in working condition.
- Follow proper safety protocols and procedures when handling equipment and conducting repairs.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver and mechanic, preferably in the equipment industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy equipment.
This position requires a versatile individual who is comfortable with both driving and hands-on mechanical work. The successful candidate should be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of ensuring the safe delivery and maintenance of various equipment types.
