Health and Safety Consultant- – (Hybrid | Harrisburg, PA)

Employment Type: Contract/Fulltime | Supporting the Pennsylvania State Police

Salary: $40,000- $58,000 | 3 weeks PTO | Commonwealth of PA

Abel Personnel is hiring on behalf of our public sector client for an Apprentice-Level Health and Safety Consultant to support safety programs for the Pennsylvania State Police . This hybrid opportunity includes time on-site at headquarters, remote work, and travel to various worksites across the state.

This is an ideal role for an early-career professional looking to grow in the occupational safety field while contributing to a mission-driven organization. The position includes hands-on learning, structured responsibilities, and support from seasoned safety personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver health and safety training both in person and virtually
• Conduct safety assessments and AIPP audits
• Analyze injury and illness data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions
• Support regulatory compliance and contribute to a strong safety culture
• Collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels
• Travel to assigned worksites as needed (must have reliable personal transportation)

What You Need to Succeed in This Role

• One of the following:
• An AIPP certification with less than two years of occupational safety experience
• An AIPP certification with two or more years of occupational safety experience
• At least two years of occupational safety experience and currently pursuing AIPP certification
• Learn more about AIPP certification requirements:
• PA AIPP Qualifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
