Live Haul Driver

Job Summary
This position makes CDL A runs both local work (home daily), and OTR work. Will transport livestock in a safe manner while adhering to animal welfare and biosecurity guidelines and following all standard operating procedure.

Essential Job Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Operate truck to transport goods and Live Birds over long distances.

· Must satisfy all daily production need movements.

· Responsible for daily yard checks of equipment for proper conditions, fuel levels and temperatures.

· Load and unload materials and livestock.

· Ensured materials are secured properly compliant with safety regulations.

· Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible, accurate format and properly completed with required information.

· Communicates positively with other drivers and customers when necessary.

· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Biosecurity Protocol.

· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.

· Report any damages to company vehicles and trailers via eMaintenance work order program.

· Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Required Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Class A CDL license with no legal or safety incidents on record required.

· No restrictions, must know how to operate manual and automatic trucks

· Minimum 1 year of driving experience or completion of professional truck driving educational program required.

· Must maintain valid drivers’ license.

· Required to comply with all applicable DOT Driver regulations, including passing DOT background check and drug screen.

· Ability to use smartphone, laptop, and tablet technology.

· Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload.

· Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.

· Ability to do Basic Math.

· Ability to legibly write entries for record keeping.

· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to satisfy all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.

· Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

· Must be able to exit equipment by stepping, climbing, and kneeling.

· Must be able to crouch and squat for pre and post trip inspections.

· Must be able to sit and drive truck frequently and for long periods.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and anything over 50 lbs. with assistance.
