Accounting Specialist
Keystone Opportunity Center is a nonprofit organization located in Souderton, Pennsylvania, whose mission is to educate, encourage, and empower community members in need to become self-sufficient. To accomplish this mission, Keystone provides the community with a food pantry for people experiencing food insecurity, affordable housing options for people experiencing housing instability, and educational opportunities that support community members to increase their employability.
Keystone Opportunity Center is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support the daily financial operations of the organization. This role assists with accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, grant tracking, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, organized, has strong Excel skills and eager to build a career in nonprofit accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and payment preparation
- Record accounts receivable and assist with donor contribution tracking
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Work closely with controller to ensure accurate financial records in accounting software
- Assist with monthly and year-end close processes
- Support grant tracking and restricted fund reporting
- Assist in preparation for annual audits and compliance reporting
- Maintain documentation in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed
- Weekly bank deposits
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting practices
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with donor management software (e.g., DonorPerfect or similar platforms)

Compensation & Benefits
- Payrate of $23/hr - $27/hr commensurate with experience
