Union Payroll Coordinator

Overview: The Union Payroll Coordinator position is responsible for the functional payroll responsibilities and controls for a multi-state union construction company. The ideal candidate needs to have a keen attention to detail, be well organized and have an enthusiastic spirt of cooperation and teamwork. Responsibilities: - Perform all payroll related functions and disbursements
- Coordinate field time, verifying hours, coding of timesheets, data entry and finalizing weekly payroll
- Coordinate check distribution - fed ex to job sites, mail, courier and/or hold at office
- Maintain Superintendent and key field personnel compensation packages including management approval; geographic or job specific modifications
- Review and submit all new hire documentation to Corporate payroll for processing ensuring all documentation is prepared and managed in accordance with established guidelines, federal/state/local including but not limited to I-9, W-4 preparation along with E-Verify guidelines including current ID's
- Maintain and update electronic building trade union wage scale and benefit information
- Coordinate Layoff payroll to insure timely processing and delivery of checks
- Assist with Corporate Payroll team on payroll support services, as needed, such as union benefit reporting, certified payrolls, audits etc.
- Verify all expense/mileage/per diem for field support and process weekly payments
- Maintain “electronic” payroll files and paper personnel files
- Distribute and update all payroll related forms to the Field Superintendents and Project Managers
- Educate Field personnel as needed on payroll form completion and accuracy
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibit a spirit of cooperation & teamwork with all members of the organization
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required

Qualifications:- High School Degree or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- 3-5 years of payroll processing experience -a must
- Union payroll experience is a plus
