Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Production Operators to join our team, working under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor. The role involves ensuring the proper operation and cleaning of production equipment to safely manufacture powder coatings. You may be placed in Grinding, Weigh Up, or Extrusion production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of production assets, ensuring their safe operation according to established procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Perform daily production tasks, preventative maintenance, process data collection, and administration as per procedures and control systems.
  • Report safety, quality, or other issues related to products or production processes to the Team Leader or Shift Supervisor.
  • Ensure all production targets are met while maintaining appropriate quality standards.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings.
  • Contribute to the investigation of Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) or quality issues.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and programs for HSE, Quality, ALPS, or other assignments.
  • Engage in the Safety Journey by adhering to the Golden Principle, which is to intervene to stop work if conditions or behavior are unsafe.
  • Promote health, safety, and environmental regulations by ensuring compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required for the success of the company.

Essential Skills

  • Two to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, including understanding process sheets containing product process directions and safety precautions.
  • Demonstrate integrity while performing duties according to the company's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform complex testing processes on production batches to measure product's physical or chemical characteristics.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
  • Maintain records and charts for all checked products.
  • Record and report observations or test results in the appropriate QC card or file.
  • Work with QC manager, production staff, and development staff to evaluate production or field-related problems.
  • Identify potential causes of complaints.
  • Actively engage in 5S activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a paint manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience.
  • English speaking.
  • Basic Microsoft skills preferred.
  • High school or equivalent education preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves working directly on the manufacturing floor as a production associate, responsible for pulling product samples. The environment is climate-controlled, with older machinery and some dust in the air, but clean enough. Expect to work in a team of about 5 people per section, with shifts on a 1st/2nd Swing schedule

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
