What You'll Be Doing
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining roads, parking lots, commercial developments, and critical infrastructure throughout the region.
Daily Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on active construction sites.
- Run asphalt rollers, pavers, milling machines, backhoes, skid steers, compactors, and other construction equipment.
- Perform grading, excavation, trenching, site preparation, and paving activities.
- Support road construction, asphalt paving, parking lot installations, and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Read grades, stakes, site plans, and construction drawings to ensure accurate work.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance to maximize uptime and productivity.
- Work closely with project managers, foremen, truck drivers, and field crews to keep projects on schedule.
- Follow PennDOT specifications, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
- Assist crews with additional site responsibilities when needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
- Experience in asphalt paving, road construction, excavation, grading, or site development.
- Ability to safely operate multiple pieces of construction equipment.
- Experience reading site grades, stakes, and construction drawings.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation to projects primarily located east of Pittsburgh.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays during peak season.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
