We are seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic individual to fill our full-time assistant manager position.
Assistant Manager Qualifications:
- Leadership to manage small teams of baristas, identifying strengths and weaknesses to effectively delegate tasks as well as coaching them to improve on various skills
- Communicate in organized, concise manner to disseminate new information or procedures, as well as providing support and constructive feedback to staff
- Interpersonal skills to help build team chemistry and customer relations
- Ability to handle conflicts by identifying causes and providing resolutions to build successful relationships between baristas
- Using critical thinking and problem solving skills to pinpoint issues and develop methodical, step-by-step plans to fix them
- Time and priority management to balance workload with time constraints
- Act as liaison between baristas and management teams
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, orientations and training of new baristas
- Create schedules weekly
- Basic accounting of cash drawers and deposits
- Taking inventory and handling all supply orders
- Utilizing sales reports to analyze and improve revenue
- Available to work up to 40 hours per week
- Open availability; you will be working with the manager to maintain the store which will require splitting weekends and holiday hours and varying shifts (opens, mids, closes)
- All basic qualifications and functions required for barista role (see below)
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer service in a timely fashion
- Prepare and serve drinks and food in accordance with health code and Coffee Tree standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Restocking and maintaining retail merchandise displays
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Meet all policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling, store safety and security
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs
- Standing for long periods of time
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to build relationships
- Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced work environment
