Now Hiring: Transformer Winder – 1st & 2nd Shift Available

Snider-Blake is seeking qualified candidates to operate semi-automatic winding equipment used in the production of power transformers. This position may include electrical testing and assembly work based on drawings and work instructions.

Position Summary

• Connect coils to terminals and build supporting structures for power transformers.
• Perform tasks such as winding copper wire, assembling components, and conducting electrical tests.
• May be temporarily reassigned to other departments for cross-training or production support.

Essential Duties

• Wrap insulation around coils and secure with adhesive tape.
• Drive fiber wedges between coil and core using a mallet.
• Crimp leads and tags to conform with wiring diagrams.
• Assemble support structures, terminals, tanks, and cabinet panels.
• Braze coil leads to terminal strips.
• Fabricate coils and assemble components per blueprints and instructions.
• Varnish dip transformers, clean, and ink stamp part numbers/date codes.
• Perform HI pot testing and continuity checks.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education or high school diploma; or up to three months of related experience/training.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must be able to read a 12-inch scale and tape measure.
• Must be able to operate a pallet jack.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
