Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Youth Basketball Instructor / Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate confidently leads structured, development-focused training sessions for youth athletes of varying skill levels.

Whether you are a former player, PE teacher, or experienced youth coach, you will play a vital role in helping players improve both their game and their character.

This is a part-time position with opportunities for growth based on performance, availability, and program needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality instructional basketball sessions for youth ages 6 to 18
• Create and follow structured lesson plans tailored by age and skill level
• Adapt drills and teaching based on group performance and individual needs
• Teach fundamentals, including shooting, ball handling, footwork, passing, defense, and game IQ
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
• Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and staff
• Build positive relationships that support athlete development and program growth

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, drills, and player development
• Previous coaching or competitive playing experience preferred (college or high-level high school)
• Experience working with children in sports, education, or youth programs
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Passion for mentoring young athletes and teaching life skills through sports
• Coaching certification or relevant degree (Physical Education, Kinesiology, or similar) is a plus
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete training
• Ability to obtain required PA State Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting

Schedule & Commitment

• Part-time position with hours that vary by session, enrollment, and seasonal programming
• Required availability during core operating hours:
• Weeknights between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM
• Saturdays between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM
• Exact weekly hours may fluctuate by session
• Opportunities for year-round coaching through leagues, clinics, camps, and private training
• Dependable staff may be considered for expanded or leadership roles over time

• Programs based in Lansdale and Souderton, PA
