NOW HIRING: Crisis Call Specialist: ChildLine – HYBRID

Location: Pennsylvania (Initial training in Harrisburg)
Pay: $21/hour
Schedule: Full-time (varied shifts based on department needs- expect to work approximately 5–12 hours of overtime per week)

Work Type: Hybrid – opportunity to work from home up to 3 days per week

As a Crisis Call Specialist: ChildLine , you’ll be the first point of contact for people reporting concerns about a child’s safety or well-being. You’ll listen, gather important information, and make sure each situation gets to the right people for follow-up.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Answer incoming calls and review reports related to potential child abuse or neglect
• Ask questions to gather accurate, complete information and document details in the system
• Evaluate reports to determine if they meet child protective service criteria
• Route cases to the appropriate agencies (county offices, law enforcement, etc.)
• Communicate with callers who may be emotional or distressed, providing support and guidance
• Share resources and referrals when appropriate
• Review prior case history and ensure all information is properly documented and updated
• Follow all state laws, policies, and guidelines when handling cases

TRAINING DETAILS

• Training lasts approximately 3 months
• Combination of in-office and virtual learning
• Training hours are typically 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM , but may vary
• First 2 weeks of training will be onsite in Harrisburg, PA

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience/training
• Healthcare high-volume call center or remote experience required
• Crisis hotline experience preferred
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, emotional situations professionally
