Estimator Opportunity with a Leading Carpentry Firm

Key Responsibilities

- Estimate Preparation: Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to develop precise material and labor cost estimates tailored for carpentry work.

- Bid Management: Create and submit comprehensive bids to clients, ensuring full alignment with project scope, timelines, and budget constraints.

- Collaboration: Partner with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to discuss project needs, pricing approaches, and scope modifications.

- Vendor Liaison: Engage with suppliers to collect pricing information and material options, ensuring propositions remain competitive and uphold quality standards.

- Site Visits: Conduct on-site evaluations, as required, to assess project conditions and gather measurements that aid in crafting more accurate estimates.

- Cost Control: Oversee project budgets and propose cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.

- Risk Management: Identify and communicate potential risks to the project management team to avert cost overruns.

- Documentation Reporting: Keep detailed records of estimates, proposals, and any project changes for both internal use and client review.

Requirements

- Experience: At least 2 years of estimating experience, ideally within the commercial construction realm.

- Education: Degree or certification in construction management, estimating, or a related discipline preferred.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software such as Procore or Buildertrend, alongside expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and blueprint reading.

- Industry Knowledge: A strong grasp of commercial carpentry methodologies, materials, and adherence to industry standards.

- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, aiding professional interactions with clients, vendors, and team members.

- Attention to Detail: Adept at handling complex data sets and identifying discrepancies or inaccuracies in drawings and estimates.

- Problem-Solving: A proactive disposition towards identifying challenges and devising effective solutions.
