Field Access Manager
The Field Access Manager (FAM) serves as a dedicated field-based reimbursement and access resource supporting the launch and ongoing access needs for a Neurology product. The FAM is responsible for providing comprehensive education and support to healthcare providers and office staff on all aspects of patient access, reimbursement, coverage, prior authorization, appeals, specialty pharmacy processes, and patient support services.
The FAM will work directly with Sleep Specialists, Neurologists, Advanced Practice Providers, and office personnel to proactively identify and address access barriers, facilitate timely therapy initiation, and support continuity of care throughout the patient journey. Through in-person engagement and strategic account management, the FAM will serve as a trusted access partner, delivering education on payer requirements, coverage pathways, documentation needs, and reimbursement processes while maintaining compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Access & Reimbursement Support: Educate healthcare providers and office staff on product coverage, payer policies, prior authorizations, and appeals to facilitate timely therapy initiation.
- Strategic Account Management: Build long-term relationships and execute account plans through targeted, in-person visits to Sleep Centers, Neurology practices, and Academic Medical Centers.
- Patient Journey Support: Educate patients and healthcare providers on available patient support programs and access resources designed to assist eligible patients.
- Barrier Resolution & Patient Journey: Proactively resolve reimbursement bottlenecks (e.g., step therapy, denials) while coordinating with HUB services and specialty pharmacies to support seamless patient onboarding.
- Payer & Market Intelligence: Maintain deep regional and national payer policy expertise to serve as the local market access expert and communicate critical updates to stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner internally with field teams and market access groups to coordinate patient solutions, share field insights, and ultimately enhance internal team capabilities.
- Compliance & Reporting: Document all interactions and capture actionable market insights, ensuring 100% compliance with FDA, HIPAA, and company regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree required.
- 4+ years pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device experience.
- Minimum of 2 years reimbursement experience required.
- Ability to solve access issues related in the specialty pharmacy channel.
- Neuro/CNS experience required.
- Strong written, verbal, & interpersonal skills required.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $155,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
