Job Description

Position Summary

The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President, Strategy to play a pivotal role in shaping the newly formed Strategy division. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, this position will lead the creation and ongoing refinement of an innovative in-house agency model, drive strategic planning, and ensure effective execution of critical initiatives, particularly those focused on 2026 activations. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a track record of driving non-aeronautical revenue growth, improving stakeholder satisfaction, and fostering a culture of continuous innovation and agility.

Essential Functions

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Development

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to direct reports, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead strategic planning processes, establish clear objectives, define performance metrics, and leverage analytics to guide decision-making.
  • Continue to build and refine an in-house agency model designed to optimize resources, enhance creativity, and deliver exceptional work.

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with senior leadership across Operations, Finance, HR, Capital Development, and IT.
  • Foster effective partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders, including airlines, TSA, and CBP.

Revenue Growth & Performance Optimization

  • Drive initiatives focused on increasing non-aeronautical revenue and enhancing internal client satisfaction.
  • Implement and monitor performance metrics to track progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure strategic alignment.

Process Innovation & Agility

  • Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and agility within the Strategy division.
  • Oversee the execution of strategic activations, particularly focused on high-profile events planned for 2026.

  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships effectively

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of strategic leadership experience, ideally within an in-house agency or strategic planning environment
  • Proven experience managing and developing large teams with a coaching and collaborative approach
  • Demonstrated success in revenue growth initiatives, stakeholder relationship management, and data-driven decision-making
  • Experience driving organizational change and implementing innovative processes and structures
  • Must pass and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) at the time of appointment and during tenure of employment.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000
