Controls Engineer (This is an onsite position Monday - Friday 8am- 5pm)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design and implement control systems for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and controls design, with a focus on improving efficiency and reliability in our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop control systems for manufacturing equipment
• Create and revise electrical control panels and schematics
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and electro-mechanical systems
• Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA79, and ANSI/ISO standards
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement improvements
• Utilize AutoCAD electrical for circuit design and documentation
• Select appropriate materials and components for control systems
• Develop startup procedures and documentation for new equipment
• Prepare and maintain Bill of Material and budget documentation
• Implement Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as part of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of experience in controls engineering or related roles
• Proficient in programming logic controllers; Siemens, GE Fanuc, and Allen-Bradley (AB)
• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and operator interfaces
• Experience with HMI and PLC/PC control systems
• Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies and circuit design
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Experience with material selection and budget management
• Understanding of safety and environmental regulations in manufacturing
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
