Jamison Professional Services, Inc. (“Jamison”) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Telephone Operator, in the Philadelphia, PA area.

About the Role:
We are seeking reliable and professional Telecommunications Operators to provide critical support across all communications systems at the CMCVAMC and its associated sites. This is a vital customer service role that ensures smooth operation of incoming/outgoing calls, emergency communications, and internal coordination.

Work schedule: 40 hours per week - There are no dedicated tours for FTE assigned, all FTE will rotate tour coverage. Flex tours may be assigned based on the need of the contracting officer. The contractor will be required to perform services on all federal holidays and any approved unplanned holiday.



Tour/Lunch/Break Schedule:

  • 8:00AM - 4:30PM | (1) thirty-minute (30) | (2) 15-minute
  • 4:00PM - 12:00PM | n/a | (2) 15 minute
  • 12:00AM - 8:00AM | n/a | (2) 15 minute


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of office and telecom equipment, including:
  • Cisco Phone Model CP 8841.
  • Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) switchboard.
  • Facility-wide paging systems.
  • Deliver messages and emergency communications promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor alarms and respond to emergency notifications efficiently.
  • Provide customer service support for patients and staff via phone.
  • Route calls to the correct departments and locations within the facility.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) for administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and track communication tasks from start to finish.
  • Handle sensitive or difficult calls with professionalism and empathy.
  • Index and maintain current records of patient/employee locations.
  • Operate emergency equipment related to alarms, patient safety, fire, and disaster protocols.

Performance Expectations:

  • All routine calls (internal/external) must be answered within 3 rings.
  • Emergency calls must be answered within 2 rings.
  • All emergency communications must be broadcast via paging at least 3 times within 15 seconds.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Prior experience in telecommunications or customer service roles (2+ years).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with hospital or clinical settings (preferred).
  • Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


Clearance Level Required: Must be able to pass a Federal Background check.
