Requirements of the Temporary Dining Services Manager:
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED
- Must graduate from an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the ADA
- Must possess a Food Service Sanitation (serv safe) certification
- Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility
- Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
- Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
Responsibilities of the Temporary Dining Services Manager:
- Make weekly inspections of all dietary functions to assure that quality control measures are continually maintained
- Assist the Dietary staff as well as assume responsibility and accountability of directing the dietary department
- Coordinate dietary services and activities with other related departments (Nursing, Activities, Housekeeping, etc)
- Provide exceptional hospitality and communication to our residents, family members, guests and team members.
- Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
- Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of dining services areas; must perform regular inspections of dining service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Review the Dining Services requirements of each resident admitted to the Facility, as may be required, and assist the attending physician in planning for the resident's prescribed diet plan.
- Read and interpret Dining Services cost reports, financial data, etc.
- Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to other Dining Services personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties (i.e., head cook, cooks, etc.).
