Modern and privately owned dental practice in Perkasie, PA is looking for a part-time hygienist to join our team. We are an out of network provider that emphasizes preventative care and functional dentistry. Our dental practice holds a high standard in ensuring that each one of our patients is treated with compassion, kindness, and respect. The right candidate will strive to ensure our values are presented with each patient while also being professional, reliable, and portray excellent patient care. The right candidate needs to be personable and possess great chair side manners. They should be able to build a trusting relationship with the patients that encourages routine maintenance, preventative care and completion of necessary treatment. Lastly, the right candidate will have a deep understanding of relevant health and safety policies and procedures as well as have a keen eye for oral diseases and anomalies.
Role Specifics:
Part-time: Tuesday 7:30AM-5PM and Thursdays 9:30AM – 6PM
Location: Perkasie, PA
Role Responsibilities:
-Ensure a high level of dental care
-Perform patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse
-Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth (Prophy, SRP)
-Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
-Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs)
-Must be comfortable recommending treatment to patients based on clinical findings
-Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
-Educate patients with appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;
(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, etc.)
-Schedule and perform whitening procedures
-Scheduling of recall appointments
-Take digital x-rays and intra-oral photos, utilize intra oral scanner
-Maintain a clean and professional clinical environment
-Work as part of a team with emphasis on communication
-Sterilize dental instruments properly
-Monitor supplies
-Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
Role Qualifications:
-Valid Pennsylvania RDH License required
-CPR/Child Abuse Clearance required
-Anesthesia license required
-Be able to successfully complete a background check
Please Note: The Practice is closed 4 weeks per year (one week at a time usually spaced about 3 months apart). The specific week is scheduled at least 6 months in advance. While this is considered unpaid time off, employees can elect to use PTO (if available).
