The Manufacturing Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures a safe, clean, and organized work environment that meets company and regulatory standards. Duties include cleaning production areas, breakrooms, restrooms, and offices, as well as handling minor maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of manufacturing and warehouse floors, equipment exteriors, and workstations.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize all production and non-production areas.
- Empty and clean trash and recycling containers throughout the facility.
- Clean and restock restrooms and break areas.
- Follow proper cleaning procedures and chemical handling practices according to company safety guidelines (e.g., SDS).
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed.
- Operate floor scrubbers and other custodial equipment safely and effectively.
- Respond to spills and sanitation issues promptly to prevent hazards or production delays.
- Support special cleaning projects such as deep cleans, seasonal maintenance, or audits.
- Communicate with supervisors about safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or supply needs.
- Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA standards.
- Ability and willingness to complete other duties as assigned.
- This role involves cross-training opportunities in other departments to enhance skills and support team needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
- Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners).
- Basic knowledge of cleaning agents and chemical safety.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
