Summary

With a 52-acre campus complete with fully accessible Aquatics, Wellness and Fitness Center, amphitheater, adaptive par-3 golf course, sports court, and plenty of outdoor space, The Woodlands offers the ideal environment to explore physical activity and community and social integration.

Position Overview
This Facilities Associate position is primarily responsible for the overall cleaning, activities set up, safety and general presentation of the buildings on the Woodlands Campus. Responsibilities include daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks of the Wellness Center, Camper Cabins, Dining Hall, offices, and activity buildings on the campus. The associate will maintain the organizations cleanliness, and the proper stocking and storage of all custodial supplies for buildings. This includes maintaining the proper working order, cleaning, and disinfecting all buildings. The associate is also responsible for preparing meetings and event setup. The associate will also work with other facilities staff in building maintenance and repair tasks on a regular basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Facilities Dept. in determining and executing all cleaning and activity setup requirements for programs and functions occurring at the Woodlands Foundation.
  • Review activities and events on the Woodlands Facilities Calendar.
  • Ensure that all buildings are maintained and set up in a timely, accessible, safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing condition each day.
  • Review and document corrective actions for all repair and maintenance work requests and communicate these to the supervisory staff.
  • Conduct regular rounds of all buildings and facilities ensuring that proper working order, cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain all Buildings and custodial equipment to be clean, safe, and in proper working condition and is properly stored.
  • Communicate supply requirements to the Facilities Director to ensure proper inventory of all cleaning, janitorial and maintenance supplies. Order as required.
  • Assist in maintaining all mechanical rooms, maintenance garages, and facility storage areas in a neat, clean, and organized manner.
  • Ensure that all Facility operational requirements and rules related to regulatory agency inspections are in full compliance where it occurs in the execution of their daily tasks.
  • Core hours for this position are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends may be necessary as scheduled programs vary throughout the year.
  • Responsible for monthly inspections of life safety equipment (fire extinguishers and exit lights) and inspection of pest bait stations and traps.
  • May be required to assist with snow removal and salting outside buildings in the winter.
  • Assist the Facilities staff with basic groundskeeping tasks when necessary.

Qualification/Competency Requirements:

  • Facilities custodial experience, including cleaning, activities setup, and building usage supplies is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to operate floor cleaning and basic grounds keeping equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently once provided tasks by the Director of Facilities Experiences. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and partnering skills.
  • Abilities to accept and adapt to schedule and process changes that may occur due to unplanned operational or program circumstances.
  • Basic computer skills with the following software and applications: Outlook and Internet
  • Full understanding of facilities operational procedures and Woodlands Foundation customer requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of people including the management staff to ensure successful outcomes of planned initiatives.
  • “Safety Always” attitude which is practiced with integrity and a high degree of accountability for end results.
  • PA Keep Kids Safe Clearances (PA Child Abuse History, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Background Check) - required and updated every 5 years.
  • Complete PA Act 31 Recognizing and Reporting Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in PA online training
  • Drug Free testing - required.

  • Walking, standing, exposed to extreme temperatures as this role must go from interior to exterior of buildings during all seasons and weather conditions.
  • Exposure to heat and cold, dust, pollen, fumes
  • May have to respond to after-hours calls if required.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and or move a minimum of 25 pounds frequent lift and or move 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to regularly sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to manipulate tools and equipment and repetitively reach with hands and arms.
