RESPONSIBILITIES – Job Summary
The Construction Project Manager (Field-Focused) is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and executing radiation shielding construction projects for both domestic and international clients. This role combines traditional project management responsibilities with strong hands-on field leadership , ensuring projects are successfully executed from pre-construction through close-out.
The Project Manager maintains a strong presence on active construction sites, coordinating crews, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality standards, and resolving issues in real time. The role oversees project schedules, budgets, procurement, and subcontractor performance while maintaining close collaboration with internal teams, general contractors, engineers, and clients.
This position requires up to 60% travel , which may include day travel or overnight stays depending on project location and scope. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in the field and managing project responsibilities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards .

Project Management & Coordination
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously from pre-construction through project close-out .
- Develop and maintain project schedules including procurement, logistics, and field execution.
- Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, radiation physicists, inspectors, general contractors, and client representatives.
- Review construction drawings, shielding details, specifications, and project scope prior to mobilization.
- Prepare material take-offs and coordinate procurement of materials and subcontractor services.
- Interpret contract documents and coordinate with Contracts and Estimating teams on project requirements.
- Maintain proactive communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate project success.
- Identify potential project risks related to timeline, cost, or resources and proactively resolve issues.
- Maintain a strong on-site presence to oversee daily construction activities and ensure work is executed according to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries to support efficient installation and workflow.
- Verify shielding layouts, penetrations, sequencing, and installation methods during construction.
- Identify and resolve field issues quickly to prevent delays, rework, or cost impacts.
- Support or supplement site supervision during critical construction phases.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections to monitor work progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Ensure subcontractor work aligns with project scope, specifications, and schedule requirements.
- Lead jobsite coordination meetings and communicate daily field progress.
- Lead and promote a strong jobsite safety culture across all projects.
- Enforce company safety policies and site-specific safety plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable safety regulations.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation required for shielding verification and approvals.
- Conduct safety meetings and address jobsite conditions requiring attention.
- Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to company and regulatory procedures.
- Manage project budgets and maintain financial performance across multiple projects.
- Track project progress against schedule and manpower plans.
- Monitor labor productivity, material usage, and subcontractor performance.
- Review project cost reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Identify scope gaps or field-driven changes and assist with change order documentation.
- Coordinate project purchasing activities to ensure quality materials and timely delivery at competitive costs.
- Ensure all shielding installations meet design intent, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Perform field quality checks prior to inspections and concealment.
- Oversee project quality control processes.
- Manage punch list completion and support final inspections and project acceptance.
- Assist with project close-out documentation including as-builts, turnover packages, and project records.
- Participate in weekly internal project and operations meetings.
- Support cross-functional initiatives with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Maintain close communication with the Sales team to support customer success.
- Serve as a brand ambassador when interacting with customers and project stakeholders.
- Develop strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and project partners.

- 5+ years of experience in construction project management, field supervision, or related leadership roles.
- Strong background in commercial construction field execution.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and vendors on active jobsites.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and project management practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and project scheduling tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Professional integrity and high ethical standards.
- PMP Certification.
- Experience with radiation shielding construction (lead-lined rooms, concrete shielding, steel shielding).
- Experience working in healthcare facilities, imaging centers, laboratories, or regulated environments.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
- Experience with construction reporting systems.
- Background as a Superintendent, Foreman, or Field Engineer.
- Up to 60% travel required depending on project assignments.
- Travel may include local day travel or overnight stays.
- Majority of work time may be spent on active construction sites.
- Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases.
- Must be able to work in active construction environments and wear required PPE.
- Projects run smoothly in the field with minimal disruptions.
- Crews and subcontractors work safely and productively.
- Field issues are resolved quickly before impacting schedule or cost.
