Downstream Process Development Scientist

Our large pharmaceutical client in Spring House, PA is seeking a Downstream Process Development Scientist to support the small-scale lentiviral vector downstream team on platform process optimization, characterization, new processes development, investigations, and technical transfer. Responsibilities include:

• Conduct small scale lentiviral vector production process development using material from mammalian cell culture. Purification techniques will include depth filtration, affinity and/or Ion exchange (IEX) chromatography, and tangential flow filtration (TFF), sterile filtration etc

• Analyze data post run and present analysis.

• Maintain record of analytical data.

• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, and all relevant safety and quality standards.

• Effectively communicate with internal and external teams.

• Identify gaps and root causes of issues and think out of the box to develop a solution.

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a lab-based Scientist supporting downstream work including filtration of material, protein chromatography, and TFF (Tangential Flow Filtration)

• Protein chromatography experience - bind/elute, ion exchange, or size exclusion - Lentiviral downstream process development experience

• Hands on experience with Cytiva AKTA
