Quality Assurance Manager
Benshaw is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and continuously improve our quality management systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. The Quality Assurance Manager will partner with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Service teams to drive a culture of quality, problem prevention, and continuous improvement across the organization. Quality Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Benshaw’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and industry standards
- Establish quality objectives, KPIs, and metrics to measure product performance and process capability
- Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Serve as the primary quality liaison for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Oversee inspection, testing, and validation processes for incoming, in-process, and final product
- Develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions
- Partner with Production and Engineering to reduce defects, scrap, and rework
- Lead corrective and preventive action (CARA) activities using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.)
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes with risk assessments and control plans
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) for customers both virtually and on-site
- Manage supplier quality performance including audits, scorecards, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with Supply Chain on supplier selection, qualification, and development
- Lead supplier nonconformance resolution and containment activities
- Plan and conduct internal audits; coordinate external and customer audits
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, UL/CSA requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
- Maintain quality documentation, records, and change control processes
- Lead and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians
- Provide training on quality tools, procedures, and workmanship standards
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to embed quality into all operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and structured quality systems
- Experience with root cause analysis, CARA, and statistical process control
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM, CMQ/OE)
- Experience in electrical equipment, power electronics, or industrial controls
- Experience in applied motor control (low voltage and or medium voltage experience)
- Knowledge of UL/CSA compliance requirements
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification
- Experience with ERP systems and quality modules
