About Ruth’s Way, Inc.
Ruth’s Way, Inc. is a faith-informed nonprofit Achievement Consulting Agency dedicated to empowering adolescent girls ages 10–17 to recognize their strengths, overcome barriers, and achieve long-term success.
Through individualized Achievement Consultation, school-based Fabulous Forums, family engagement, and strategic community partnerships, we equip youth with the confidence, life skills, and support systems needed to thrive academically, emotionally, socially, and personally.
Our work is rooted in our core values of Family, Friendship, and Faithfulness , inspired by the biblical example of Ruth and reflected in every relationship we build.
About the Opportunity
As a Volunteer Board Director, you’ll serve as a strategic leader, advocate, and ambassador for Ruth’s Way.
Working alongside fellow Board members and organizational leadership, you’ll help establish organizational priorities, strengthen community partnerships, support responsible governance, and ensure Ruth’s Way continues expanding its impact throughout the region.
This is an exceptional opportunity for professionals who want to use their knowledge, leadership, and influence to create meaningful, measurable change for youth and families.
What You’ll Do
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership and governance that supports the long-term success of Ruth’s Way.
- Help shape organizational goals, priorities, and future initiatives.
- Participate actively in Board meetings and committee work.
- Provide professional insight and guidance based on your expertise.
- Support organizational sustainability through strategic planning and thoughtful decision-making.
- Serve as a passionate ambassador for Ruth’s Way throughout the community.
- Build relationships that increase awareness, partnerships, sponsorships, and community support.
- Participate in fundraising initiatives, donor cultivation, special events, and resource development activities.
- Assist with identifying and recruiting future Board members, volunteers, and strategic partners.
- Promote Ruth’s Way’s mission, accomplishments, and opportunities through professional networks and social media.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources while upholding strong ethical and fiduciary standards.

Board Member Commitment
Board members are expected to:
- Attend regularly scheduled Board meetings and actively participate in committee work.
- Review meeting materials in advance and contribute thoughtfully to discussions.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards.
- Support fundraising efforts through personal participation, advocacy, relationship building, and resource development.
- Serve as ambassadors who promote Ruth’s Way’s mission, programs, and community impact.
- Assist in recruiting qualified Board members, volunteers, and organizational partners.
- Participate in agency events and community engagement opportunities whenever possible.
- Support organizational visibility by sharing agency news, accomplishments, and events through professional and personal networks.
Service on the Board of Directors is voluntary and without compensation. Reimbursement for approved administrative, travel, or meeting-related expenses may be available in accordance with organizational policy.
