Description

The primary function of Registered Nurse is to ensure required standards for the care and protection of children at the program. The Registered Nurse Supervisor will assist the childcare facility in maintaining maximum standards and to work towards the creation, development and implementation of service for children and their families within the program.

Registered Nurse Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must provide appropriate nursing intervention services provided to program participants who are medically complex and or fragile children.
  • Provides information regarding availability and access to community resources.
  • Maintains a collaborative relationship with the interdisciplinary health team.
  • Participates in preadmission planning and interdisciplinary staff meetings.
  • Responsible for monitoring and documenting the effects of prescribed treatments and therapeutic interventions.
  • Assures that the Trinity Child Care Center provides an environment conducive to the stabilization of the child’s medical conditions and promotion of the child’s development.
  • Follows and monitors each child’s individual educational and developmental goals as outlined in their plan of care, ISFP/IEP.
  • Attends trainings and in-service programs as required.
  • Complies with all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to every aspect of the work conducted in the human resources department as well as the work conducted at Joseph’s Center.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship with coworkers and supervisors and creates an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust within the department.
  • Is flexible to changes in duties, priorities, methods and environments.
  • Comes to work as scheduled and in punctual.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned and remains flexible to the diverse needs of the facility.

Registered Nurse Competencies

  • Demonstrated skills and competencies in medical management of care for critically ill children in an environment which promotes the child’s development.
  • Demonstrated effective skills in interdisciplinary communication and team building.

Registered Nurse Education And/or Experience

  • Current license in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Current certification in CPR or will obtain within 6 months of being hired
  • Pediatric nursing experience, defined as being responsible for the care of acutely ill or chronically ill children
  • RN degree through an accredited program
  • Supervisory experience
  • Valid PA Driver’s License

  • Ability to sit 1-3 hours per day.
  • Ability to stand 1-3 hours per day.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 25-50 pounds.
  • Ability to twist upper portion of body on an infrequent basis.
  • Ability to squat, bend and kneel for short periods of time.
